Senior Scholarships

The 517 Youth Cheerleading Association is proud to offer academic scholarships each season to high school athletes who have participated in, coached, or volunteered with our program. The number of scholarships awarded and the amount of each scholarship depend on the funds raised through the annual 517 Youth Cheerleading Competitions and other fundraising opportunities.

DEADLINE is March 1st of each year

Requirements to be eligible for a scholarship:

1. Applicant has participated, coached, and/or volunteered for the 517 Youth Cheerleading Program

2. The high school you attended must be currently associated with a 517 Youth Cheerleading program and have participated in at least one of the following years: 2020-present.

3. 2027 high school graduate.

4. Competed in MHSAA Competitive Cheer.

5. Must have a 3.3 cumulative GPA on an unweighted 4.0 scale through the end of your junior year.  

Essay Submission:

  • Prompt: How have both competitive cheerleading and participation in the 517 Youth Competitive Cheerleading program impacted your life?

Transcript Submission: 

  • All scholarship applicants must include a copy of their most recent high school transcript with their application. The transcript helps us verify academic achievement and ensure eligibility for the award. Unofficial transcripts are accepted, but they must clearly show your name, current GPA, and school name.
Letters of Recommendation Submission: 
Two (2) letters of recommendation are required as part of your scholarship application. Please provide the following information below:
  1. Current Varsity Coach – Include their name and email address.
  2. One additional reference – This can be a high school teacher, administrator, organization director, or another coach. Please include their name and email address as well.

**All files uploaded (transcript and essay) MUST be in PDF format!**

Please make sure to submit all information below by our deadline of March 1, 2027! This does include letters of recommendation, so please make sure to follow up with your contacts to make sure they have submitted their letter before the deadline!
